Fantasy Writing: Making Your Fantasy Fiction a Reality With Rachel Carrington While writing a fantasy-specific romance may sound easier than writing a contemporary novel, it's extremely challenging. Yes, you can create your own world so no one can check your facts. However, there are some hard and fast rules you cannot break if your novel is to succeed in today's tough market. In this course, you'll learn those rules as well as world-building and creating a fantasy character who works with magic, powers, and abilities of which a mere mortal can only dream. This intensive five-week course consists of two lessons a week, posted Saturdays and Wednesdays. At the end of each lesson, you’ll be given a writing exercise to be completed by the next lesson. These exercises will help you learn the techniques of fantasy writing, to understand what it takes to make your fantasy characters come alive, and more. By the end of the course, you should have a clear understanding of the components of a fantasy novel, know how to create a rough draft of your fantasy world, and integrate your characters into that world. You'll learn:
Duration: Five weeks Start Dates: May 21, 2008 Cost: $100.00 Materials: None Enrollment: Minimum three participants; maximum 8.
