Write Your Book Proposal
With Jennifer Lawler
This course is
currently closed.
Course overview:
For many writers and experts who'd like to write a nonfiction book, putting
together the book proposal is the most intimidating part of the process. But you
can't sell a book without a book proposal!
Jennifer's six-week e-course will walk you through every step of the way, from
idea to finished proposal.
You'll learn how to:
--
Identify a salable book idea --
Hook an editor with your book description --
Develop an irresistible outline --
Create the kind of platform agents and editors want to see --
Develop promotion and marketing ideas for your book --
Size up the competition and make your book different-- and better! --
At the end of the course, you'll have produced a full book proposal.
Duration: Six weeks
Start date:
To be announced.
Cost:
$249
How it works:
Each Monday, Jennifer will e-mail you that week's lesson with an assignment. You
can do the assignment whenever you have time. Once you've worked through the
assignment, the information is yours forever-- you'll be able to apply what
you've learned to any book proposal you write.
Jennifer will respond to e-mail questions on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will
critique each part of your proposal as you write it. By the end of the session,
you'll have finished your book proposal - finally!
About Jennifer Lawler:
Jennifer is the author or co-author of more than 25 published nonfiction
books. She has written for small presses (Wish Publishing), medium-sized
publishing companies (McGraw-Hill) and huge media conglomerates (Penguin
Putnam). She has written everything from how-to to reference to self help. She's
helped many writers break into publishing-- and her e-course can help you do the
same.
